Loot point system

Loot point system

Hoi ho, i put up a loot point system.

Loot system

URL to our Loot Point database:
http://www.beider.org/eqdkp/

This system is a little complicated and to be honest we haven't decided on all our values yet but here is what we have so far.

Simple explanation of the system:

For every raid you participate in you get a certain amount of points, you will also get points later for giving stuff to the raid bank (like pots, bullets, repair bot stuff etc..) and for helping people do quests (blood, attunement to the core).

So everyone is gathering up their points, right now you get 100 points for each raid. If you look on the site you will see that everyone who helped with onyxia got 100 points. As items drop we will allow people to bid for that item. Mehrdad explained this before:

Let's say that a lawbringer piece drops in Molten Core. Illuvatar, Windreaper and Dappa want the piece. Now, assume that Illuvatar has done three runs to the Molten Core, whereas Windreaper and Dappa have only done 2. Each run earns you 100 points.

This means that Illuvatar has 300 points while Windreaper and Chicken have 200 each. Now, assume that Illuvatar really wants the piece and bids all of his points, 300 points in other words.
Windreaper and Dappa are not too keen on getting that item right now for various reasons, so let's say they bid 100 points each. Everyone now PM Mehrdad the raid leader how many points they want to bid.

Time for rolling. Illuvatar bid 300 points and now does a /random 1-300 roll while Windreaper and Dappa do a /random 1-100 roll. The one who wins gets the amount of points he bid removed.

A few rules:

Minimum Bids
-Legendary has minimum bid of 400 points.
-Epic has minimum bid of 200 points.
-Rare has minimum bid of 50 points.
-Uncommon has minimum bid of 25 points.

Other
-All ingredients (Lava cores etc..) goes to the raid bank. And people can bid after raid.
-If you have to leave during a raid you will get 100*(% of time you stayed). So if you leave after 20 min in an 1 hour raid, you get 100*0.33=33 points.
-This means if we have a raid over 5 days and spendt 3 hours each day. You get 20 points for each day you participated.
-All BoE drops goes to master looter. He will keep them until raid is done (If we use 5 days on MC, then 5 days), after we finish people who still got points can roll.
-When we roll for BoE drops after run is complete the people who participated may roll first. If noone who was there wanted them other people with points who didn't participate can roll for them. If noone wants they will be disenchanted or sold.
-You can maximum save up 1000 points. (We might give people who lose points because they go over max some bonus, like some gold/pots from the raid bank)
-All bidding will be done in PM to raid leader, working around this is abuse.
-Max one epic or better per run. (This means if we do MC over 5 days, you only get one in all those 5 days).

Punishment
-You will be subtracted 25 points if you make a scene or act like an idiot.
-For each new warning we have to give you we will subtract 25 points more.
-If you ninja loot something we will subtract a lot of points.
-Abuse of system will result in servere punishments. (Might even get kicked from guild)
-When we get a decent signup system up you will be subtracted 10 points if you don't show up for a raid you signed up for (If you have a good reason we won't do so)

More rules will come as we see fit.

If anyone in your guild has a problem with the system they can complain to support@blizzard.com ^^

no really, post here i will check back to see if you have problems with it.

Sounds good Beider. I kind of like the point system. Not like some of the pyramid schemes I've seen around.

If we are using this sytem we must have some sort of system to make the raids also.
Otherwise first to joining will destroy my sleep and life, and its way more unfair then if all roll random 100 all the time.

And if I join MC raid after the summer (I will be gone under the sommer) some will have like 3000 p and I will have none....it will take me atleast a month MC raiding to get points to have a fair chance to win on a loot.
but then I will never join the raid, because it will take 6 hours and i get nothing out of it except 15 g in repair every time (minimum).

100 p is alot, whatabout 25p for every run? 100 vs 125 is a big differens but still the 100 guy can win.

And to do something good for the guild to get point......that is a job u just cant do fair.
impossible to have controll over everything, and I will not report to guild leader every time I do ubrs with someone in the guild. And I dont think nalc want that either. (spammed)

Well, some will bother showing up and doing their job all the time, I think they have earned all the points and can use it as they like :P
You can still bet those few points you have, chances are that you win.

no.....beacause when i come back ppl have so much points stacked after doing MC all summer, that it makes no sence for me to join the raid.
Because if something drop I can never have a fair chance to get it. except items that nobody wants....I get random 100 like all others.

And im soooo screwed on the good drops like the 60 dps sword. Because ppl will save there point for that roll, and when it drop. it will be like random 10.000 (like 5 ppl do that) agains me random 500.

that means....i will be the last one in the guilds to ever get a good drop from MC or onyxia. <--- thats maybe fair if they have done raids more times then me. but for me it sucks

And forget about new members in the guild, they dont have a chance to get anything from our raids. because they will start at 0 p.

the motive for this system is that it is unfair for ppl that raid alot if some newbie gets a item on first raid.......but if u raid alot, u get more chance to get items also. So more raid = better chance. why the points?

I want a better system....but i quess thats what we are trying to do here.....talk about it and use our brains to make a good working system.

A system that might work....with some modification:
Do like this...if u done MC 5 times u can roll 125 on everything instead of 100. and over 10 times...u have 150. and the point get to zero every third month or so, and u start over. That will make +25% more chance to get a item agains a random 100 after 5 times.....and thats alot i think. (the numbers are just there for exampel, can be anything, 130 after 3 times..and so on)
And ofc only one epic each every run. <---- or some rule like that
And if u just do halv the instance and quit the raid....u just get halv a point

that system is good because:
1.
new guildmembers can join and still have the same chance on loot in Mc raids, after the points have been taken down to zero (after 2-3 month or so)
2.
guild members can have there MC period and do MC like crasy in 2 month all the time. and after that they can go back and do some quest or grind for some gold or whatever. get more/a epic mount and so on
3.
u can be offline for a while and still have the chance to get something from the raids when u come back (IRL life do excist)
4.
people that play alot will have a better chance to get items
5.
u cant be that powerfull that everyone knows that if "that" item drops u get it because u have so much more points then everyone else

omfg... now that's what i call an organized guild. great work!

question: if i go on a first MC raid, i have to finish it to get 100? and if epic items need 200 points that means i'll only be able to get an epic item on my second raid?

thank you

Do we have to register on the Loot Point database?

Ari: As stated, if you stay 80% of the instance you will get 100x80% = 80 points. And yes you will have to be on your second run.

I personally like the DKP points, they take into account how much of the instance you did instead of how much time you waited, and awards less points if you don't manage to kill the bosses :)
