Which works exactly like you are afraid it would, but it's also the only way unfortunately . When Blizzard changed how quite a few macros worked with 2.0, Fastcast (an addon that used to fix this automatically) stopped working. And the only way to stop a cast client-side now is through a macro like this, which has the downside that it'll cancel your cast if you press it too early as you've guessed. So spamming is not an option with a macro like this really, you need to watch carefully. Because of that, I don't always use it on fights where I need to pay special attention to my environment etc.

I tried a similar macro to Greater Heal, but if I recall it correctly, it'd only work well if you press it over 1 second or 1.5 seconds after you started casting...

Just guessing that's what goes wrong with the spamming

you cant spam with the macro, you press it once then cast is in the 'red zone' of quartz.

we were talking about it on Ts so we got it bumped.

ahh, I get it...

I used it to chain cast greater heal too. But I didn't use a fancy bar, I kind of got the "feeling" of my latency (where to click to stop the cast and it actually stopping).

What's the point in spamming it then?

no, i explained the reason why you couldn't spamm it, you just interpreted that I was. I couldn't get why you would even do it... And ask why (since you mention it).

every ranged class get the cast bar guys, its great and is a nice leveller for people with 50 ms+ pings. Only press the bar once to start another spell, spamming keys just triggers the /stopcasting portion of the macro, so you cancel your spell and lose dps/heal. I hope that is explained clearly enough, as some people didnt get it last time.

First you're wrong. I'm not going to tell you why you are, but you should inform yourself a bit better.

Second, It's not like I misunderstood, I tried to say something useful. As a healer, you might have to cancel your heal right after you started casting (example, mt gets a heal), I was trying to use your post to throw in some of my wisdom / knowledge around this kind of macro since I even did one before that was way way more complex that this (an attempt to stop overhealing, that worked with multiple keypresses), I'm pretty sure more than one person got to use them.

You seem to be too proud to accept any kind of criticism or even correction, I didn't say in the previous posts you were wrong, I simply warned people to what could happen.

I didn't have anything against you (even though my opinion of you is not a positive one), but it does seem you have something against me (which, btw, I couldn't care less). Which doesn't mean I shouldn't try and help people understand game mechanics.

PS: Re-read the posts and tell me when did I ever insult you or even pointed anything against you before you threw a fit? Wasn't I simply having general macro talk, asking what was the purpose of spamming such a macro (I, for one, like to learn new things, and I really couldn't find the meaning in that)?
