We still have quite a low amount of members online on mIRC. I know that many ppl play 24/7 and can't chat all the time. But being online on mIRC can be quite useful.

If our forum (or even worse - WoW itself) goes down, we still can communicate with each other on IRC. If you disconnect during a raid and have like +400 ppl in queue and no microphone, you can tell this on IRC (and hopefully a nice member informs the raid-leader about your problem). Besides it can be fun to talk with members outside of the game.

Almost every big guild on our server has a IRC channel so you can also talk with them and ofc ppl from the horde. Perfect if you want to scream at the shaman bastard (and his 40 friends) that just ganked you.
